In other news Liz arrived on Wednesday which means my blog posts will be shorter in the next two weeks. Since I can\u2019t take any time off while she is here, we have to make the most of our weekends. Like this weekend which started very nicely with Bill& Debbie\u2019s annual margarita party (plus bonfire) on Friday and a day in Columbia including a football game (Tigers vs. Tennessee Volunteers) on Saturday. Which just so happened to be the coldest day so far this fall ^^ (see the porch in the morning?!). Thanks to getting up, walking around and switching seats (it wasn‘ sold out) as well as some hot chocolate, we made it fairly well.<\/p>\n
Au\u00dferdem ist Liz am Mittwoch angekommen, weshalb meine Blogposts jetzt erstmal zwei Wochen lang k\u00fcrzer sein werden. Da ich keinen Urlaub nehmen kann, m\u00fcssen wir unsere Wochenenden voll genie\u00dfen. Wie an diesem Wochenende mit der j\u00e4hrlichen Margerita-Party (inklusive gro\u00dfem Feuer) bei Bill& Debbie am Freitagabend und einem Tag in Columbia mit Football Spiel (Mizzou Tigers gegen Tennessee Volunteers) am Samstag. Welches dummerweise der k\u00e4lteste Tag in diesem Herbst bisher war ^^ (siehe Veranda am Morgen). Dank Aufstehens, Herumlaufens und Sitzwechsel (es war nicht ausverkauft) sowie hei\u00dfer Schokolade haben wir es ganz gut ausgehalten. Oh \u2013 eine lustige Anekdote zum Schluss: Erinnert ihr euch noch daran, dass ich im Januar an dem Abend, als meine Eltern, Liz und Nadine ankamen von einem Polizist angehalten wurde, als ich Adam und die Kinder einsammeln wollte? Na ratet mal. Ich wurde zwei H\u00e4user von zuhause entfernt angehalten und zwar von einem Polizisten, der mir von der Hauptstra\u00dfe an gefolgt war (aus irgendeinem Grund hatte ich das Stopschild in unserer Nachbarschaft beachtet welches ich normalerweise nur langsam durchfahre ^^). Er sagte ich w\u00e4re 43 in einer 35er Zone gefahren (alles Meilen pro Stunde versteht sich). Also checkte er meinen (amerikanischen) F\u00fchrerschein und meine Versicherung, um mir dann zu sagen, dass ich doch bitte ein bisschen lagsamer fahren sollte in Zukunft (mit genau denselben Worten, die der Polizist im Januar benutzt hatte!) und lies mich ohne Strafzettel gehen. Ich glaube ich mag die Polizisten in Macon :). \nOh \u2013 a funny anecdote for the end: remember how I got pulled over in January the night my parents, Liz and Nadine came to Macon? Because I was allegedly going to fast on my way to pick up Adam and the kids? Well guess what? I got pulled over two houses down from home on Wednesday by a cop who had followed me from the highway (something made me heed the stop sign in our neighborhood \u2013 usually I just slow down ^^) and said I had been going 43 in a 35-zone. He checked my (American) license and my insurance and then told me to \u201cslow down for him\u201d (exactly the words the cop in January had used!) and let me go. I think I like Macon cops :). And I do appreciate that I got lucky twice.<\/p>\n
