Since it had been almost a week, it was way past time to go back to Kansas City last Friday ^^. I’m joking of course – I think we could habe done well without another trip this soon but my appointment with the honorary consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for a new passport with my new name had been set for months (after being cancelled by them twice and by me once – so I wasn’t missing this one). Incidentally a Leonardo da Vinci exhibition was opening at Union Station on the 23rd as well so we decided to make it a weekend.
\nDa ja schon fast eine Woche seit dem letzten Trip nach Kansas City vergangen war, war es letzten Freitag offensichtlich an der Zeit wieder hinzufahren ^^. Das meine ich nat\u00fcrlich nicht ganz ernst, wir h\u00e4tten es durchaus eine Weile ohne einen weiteren Besuch dort aushalten k\u00f6nnen, aber mein Termin zur Reisepassbeantragung mit neuem Namen beim Honorarkonsul der Bundesrepublik Deutschland stand seit Monaten fest (nachdem er ihn zweimal und ich einmal abgesagt hatten, wollte ich diesen Termin wirklich wahrnehmen). Zuf\u00e4llig wurde am 23. Oktober auch eine Da Vinci Ausstellung in der Union Station er\u00f6ffnet, also haben wir uns dazu entschieden wenigstens eine Nacht dazubleiben.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Union Station is quite pretty and somewhat confusing in its layout so we looked around just a tad bit longer than we had intended, lol
\nUnion Station ist echt sch\u00f6n und ein bisschen verwirrend wenn man versucht sich zurechtzufinden. Also haben wir uns ein bisschen mehr umgeschaut als urspr\u00fcnglich geplant, lol.<\/strong>

The exhibition was centered around Da Vinci\u2019s models and although I had seen all of them last year in France, this time was different because touching was allowed in most cases. So I proceeded to crush Adam\u2019s hand in every which way (only playfully of course). We definitely did have fun with everything that was meant more for littler ones and built& flew our own paper helicopters and drew\/ colored our own Mona Lisas ^^.
\nIn other news we also discovered an absolutely fabulous restaurant and found Kansas City very pleasing altogether. We\u2019ll be back for food, bar hopping, shopping and some art :).<\/p>\n

Die Ausstellung drehte sich vornehmlich um Da Vinci\u2019s Modelle und obwohl ich diese alle letzten Sommer in Frankreich gesehen hatte, war es etwas ganz Anderes da man die meisten Modelle anfassen durfte. Also habe ich Adams Hand in mehreren Varianten in die Mangel genommen (alles nur gestellt nat\u00fcrlich). Wir hatten jedenfalls viel Spa\u00df mit allem, was eher f\u00fcr die Kleinen gedacht war und haben flei\u00dfig Papier-Helikopter gebastelt& fliegen lassen und nat\u00fcrlich unsere eigene Mona Lisa (aus-)gemalt ^^.<\/strong>
\n Au\u00dferdem haben wir ein fantastisches Restaurant entdeckt und Kansas City f\u00fcr insgesamt echt gut befunden. Wir kommen wieder: Zum Essen, Trinken, Einkaufen und ein bisschen Kunst :).<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nWe were trying out Mizzou gear to get read for the game in November on this trip as well – looking good, right ^^?
\nAu\u00dferdem haben wir Mizzou (= Uni in Columbia mit den Tigern als Team, in diesem Fall Football) Sachen anprobiert um uns auf das Spiel im November vorzubereiten – sieht gut aus, oder ^^?<\/strong>
