Before you get too excited – this will not be a post about any kind of music ^^ – it’s purely a reference to the temperatures we’ve had all week which were in the 90ies and therefore hot hot hot. So it turned out that our last trip to the lake had not been in the past and we went back there on Thursday for a swim at an almost empty beach and a little bbqing afterwards. Good times :).<\/p>\n

Bevor sich jetzt jemand einen Blogpost \u00fcber Musik ausmalt – die 90er beziehen sich in diesem Fall ausschlie\u00dflich auf unsere Temperaturen in der letzten Woche. Es waren jeden Tag \u00fcber 90\u00b0 Fahrenheit, ergo – genau wie bei euch \ud83d\ude42 – 30\u00b0 und mehr, also hei\u00df hei\u00df hei\u00df. Also stellte sich heraus, dass unser letzter Besuch am lokalen See doch nicht 2 Wochen vorher war und wir verbrachten einen sch\u00f6nen Nachmittag an einem fast menschenleeren Strand. Lecker abgeschlossen mit Grillen am sp\u00e4ten Nachmittag – super :).<\/strong>

\nSince I got time to do these things right now, I paid a visit to the optometrist and among other things got a very detailed look at my eyes. That looked like that:
\nDa ich im Moment Zeit f\u00fcr solche Dinge habe, war ich diese Woche beim Augenarzt und habe unter anderem einen sehr genauen Blick auf meine Augen werfen k\u00f6nnen. Das sah so aus:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nFinally it was also time for more home improvment – it had been so long ^^. So we worked at Bill& Debbie’s house and helped get it ready for company once more. This time we polyurethaned and stained and put up door trims. Not too bad really.
\nAu\u00dferdem war es endlich mal wieder Zeit f\u00fcr ein bisschen Heimwerkerei – war schon viel zu lange her ^^. Also haben wir bei Bill und Debbie gebeizt, lackiert und T\u00fcrrahmen montiert, damit das Haus rechtzeitig zum n\u00e4chsten Familienbesuch wieder im Normalzustand ist.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAnd the garden has produced almost its last, I would say. We’re trying to ripen our remaining squashes and pumpkin on the porch and I’ve cut herbs and hung them to dry so we have some for the fall.
\nDer Garten hat seine letzte Produktionsphase glaube ich hinter sich. Wir versuchen noch unsere restlichen K\u00fcrbisse auf der Veranda reifen zu lassen und ich habe schonmal Kr\u00e4uter f\u00fcr den Herbst zum Trocknen aufgehangen.<\/strong>

\nI’ve got one last picture to show – I tried making loaded potato skins this weekend and they turned out very well indeed. I’ll be making those again very soon :).
\nEin letztes Bild hab ich noch – ich habe mich an gef\u00fcllten Kartoffelh\u00e4lften versucht am Wochenende und sie waren echt lecker. Die machen ich ganz bestimmt bald wieder :).<\/strong>

\nWe’re back in the daily grind with sending out applications, going to school, mowing, jogging and playing. All’s well.
