The eventful Easter week was followed by a no less eventful weekend – Adam’s great-aunt and -uncle were in town visiting his parents and we were there every night. On Sunday we started early with a freshly smoked turkey for lunch – sooo yummy :).
\nUnfortunately Adam was struck down by a cold on top of his allergies starting Sunday and fought both for several days.<\/p>\n

Der ereignisreichen Osterwoche folgte ein nicht weniger ereignisreiches Wochenende – Adams Gro\u00dftante und -onkel waren zu Besuch bei seinen Eltern und wir wurden jeden Abend eingeplant. Am Sonntag begann der Spa\u00df schon mittags mit einem frisch ger\u00e4ucherten Truthahn – seeehr lecker :).<\/strong>
\nLeider hat es Adam sonntags voll erwischt und er hatte einige Tage lang mit Heuschnupfen und einer dicken Erk\u00e4ltung zu k\u00e4mpfen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n<\/a>During the week we finally got around to planting our first round of seeds and had a more than willing helper in Owen (who started asking when he could finally wash his hands about halfway through- I think he’s been around me too much ^^).
\nThen we lost the lid (that’s supposed to stay on for about a week) in the first night due to storms. And subjected the seeds to direct sunlight later in the week (note to self: read instructions next time). Now I’m very curious if anything will grow or not ^^.<\/p>\n

W\u00e4hrend dieser Woche sind wir endlich dazu gekommen, unsere Pflanzensamen anzuziehen und hatten mit Owen einen sehr willigen Helfer (der bereits zu viel Zeit mit mir verbracht hat, weil er nach ca. der H\u00e4lfte fragte wann er denn endlich H\u00e4nde waschen k\u00f6nne ^^).<\/strong>
\nDann haben wir in der ersten Nacht dank starker Windb\u00f6en den Deckel verloren (der ca. eine Woche lang nicht abgenommen werden sollte). Und die Samen sp\u00e4ter in der Woche im direkten Sonnenlicht stehen lassen (Erinnerung f\u00fcrs n\u00e4chste Mal: Bedienungsanleitung lesen, Anni). Jetzt bin ich mal sehr gespannt ob was wachsen wird oder nicht…<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSpeaking of wind: it’s April for sure – the weather has been everywhere from 80\u00b0 to 32\u00b0 at night this week and we’ve had blue skies and sunshine alternating with furious thunderstorms, winds and hail – quite a week. But thx to rain and sunshine there’s been an explosion in all that grows outside:<\/p>\n

Apropos Wind: Wir hatten volles Aprilwetter diese Woche – von 25\u00b0 bis 0\u00b0 \u00fcber Nacht war alles dabei. Strahlend blauer Himmel wechselte sich mit heftigen Gewittern, Wind und Hagel ab – was f\u00fcr eine Woche. Aber dank des Regens und Sonnenscheins sind alle drau\u00dfen wachsenden Dinge geradezu explodiert:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nOh yeah, not just plants are coming out, ant colonies are too.. and into our house… We’ve been using all kinds of things inside and out and are hoping to make it without calling an exterminator.<\/p>\n

Ach ja, nicht nur Pflanzen kommen hervor, auch Ameisenkolonien.. und in unser Haus hinein… Wir haben alle m\u00f6glichen Dinge im Haus und ums Haus herum probiert und hoffen es ohne Kammerj\u00e4ger hinzukriegen.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
