Last week I went on a trip to Arkansas for work \u2013 more accurately, the Orscheln Farm & Home stores in Jane, MO and Springdale, AR. Since Bentonville, AR is right in the middle of the two, we spent our nights there. Bentonville was very cool \u2013 unexpectedly so for me \u2013 the downtown area is the nicest I have ever seen, they have a really cool art museum (Crystal Bridges, see pics 1&2) and awesome restaurants (got to try a couple) and paths for people on bicycles everywhere. And then there is Walmart HQ and all things Sam Walton, of course\u2026 We did go through the Walmart Museum and took a picture with Sam\u2019s bust. Other than that those were 10-hour workdays and a 17-hour day last Thursday \u2013 so I was utterly pooped by Thursday night (and didn\u2019t really get any recovery time this past weekend). Next up: Greensboro, NC (this is vacation, not work).
\nLetzte Woche war ich arbeitsweise in Arkansas unterwegs \u2013 um genau zu sein waren wir in Jane, MO und Springdale, AR. Da Bentonville, AR genau in der Mitte liegt, haben wir uns dort ein Hotel gesucht. Bentonville ist die Stadt, in der Walmarts Kommandozentrale gelegen ist und somit auch gef<\/strong>\u00fc<\/strong>hlte 1 Million weitere Walmart Geb<\/strong>\u00e4<\/strong>ude\/Testl<\/strong>\u00e4<\/strong>den und mehr. Nichtsdestotrotz war es eine wirklich coole Stadt: Der alte Stadtkern\u00a0war richtig toll, die haben ein <\/strong>\u00e4u\u00dferst schickes Kunstmuseum (Crystal Bridges, siehe Bild 1&2), tolle Restaurants (wir haben 2 ausprobiert) und ohne Ende Pfade f\u00fcr Fahrradfahrer. Und dann nat\u00fcrlich absolut alles, was mit Walmart oder dessen Gr\u00fcnder Sam Walton zu tun hat… Wir waren im Walmart Museum (kostenlos und klein) und haben ein Foto mit Sams B\u00fcste gemacht. Ansonsten waren das zwei 10-Stunden Arbeitstage und einer mit 17 Stunden \u2013 entsprechend fertig war ich am Samstag Abend (und am WE war nicht wirklich Zeit f\u00fcr Erholung). Als n\u00e4chstes auf dem Programm: Greensboro, North Carolina (Freizeit, keine Arbeit).

Then there was Germany\u2019s first game in the soccer world cup yesterday \u2013 no joy to be found in that match, but at least I had a pretty decent (and quite authentic tasting) beer.
\nDann war da ja auch gestern noch der WM-Auftakt Deutschlands\u2026 keine Freude muss ich sagen, aber immerhin hatte ich ein gutes (recht authentisch schmeckendes) Bier (aus einem Gaffel Glas, Adam aus einem\u00a0Fr<\/strong>\u00fch Glas, lol).
