It’s already been a while again, so I better get you all caught up on what’s been going on.
\nFirst there was this year’s Unbound Book Festival in Columbia a couple of weeks ago – with Zadie Smith as the main name on Friday night. As you can see you can see the chicken’s hair a lot better than her – I was just not close enough. But got my book signed afterwards (fourth in line for that!). We stayed all day Saturday as well this time and went to three more author conversations – it was very cool.
\nEs ist mal wieder Zeit zu berichten, schon wieder l\u00e4nger her.
\nZuerst einmal war vor 2 Wochen das Unbound Book Festival in Columbia, in diesem Jahr mit Zadie Smith als gro\u00dfem Namen\u00a0 freitagabends. Wie ihr sehen k\u00f6nnt, sehr ihr des H\u00e4hnchens Haar besser als sie, aber ich war einfach nicht nah genug dran. Mein Buch habe ich mir aber nat\u00fcrlich signieren lassen (und zwar als vierte in einer laaaangen Schlange!). Wir sind auch am Samstag in Columbia geblieben und haben uns drei weitere Autoren-Gespr\u00e4che geg\u00f6nnt – klasse war das.<\/strong>

\nThen this past weekend we got really busy. First there was the city-wide murder mystery to be solved in Columbia on Saturday, which turned into several pool games after and finally 5 rounds of bowling with Brandi & Brandon to top the night off. Good times!
\nAm vergangenen WE waren wir dann mal wieder richtig eingespannt – zuerst mit der L\u00f6sung einer stadtweiten Mord-R\u00e4tsels in Columbia am Samstag, gefolgt von Billard, gefolgt von Bowling mit Brandi & Brandon (5 Spiele). Hat viel Spa\u00df gemacht!<\/strong>

\nOn Sunday we blew new insulation into our attic and though we had hoped that that would be something we could do in a few hours, it of course ended up taking almost all day. Mostly because we had to borrow the trailer from Bill, drive to Kirksville to get the blower & insulation, do all the work at home and then take the trailer & blower back to their rightful owners. Oh and then there was that plug in the hose when we were down to 2 bags (2 out of 50 that is!), which took us about 45 minutes to unplug. We chose wisely as far as the day was concerned, because Sunday – though sunny, never got over 65 degrees – and it was still hot in the attic. Needless to say the insulation went just about everywhere, but that was to be expected. We will be picking up pieces of cellulose for weeks, I’m sure…
\nAm Sonntag haben wir dann unseren Dachboden neu isoliert und obwohl wir gehofft hatten, dass wir das Ganze in wenigen Stunden erledigen k\u00f6nnten, hat es nat\u00fcrlich fast den ganzen Tag gedauert. Vor allem deshalb, weil wir den Anh\u00e4nger von Bill ausleihen, dann nach Kirksville fahren um die Ger\u00e4tschaften und die Isolationsmaterialien zu kaufen, den Kram im Dachboden verspr\u00fchen und dann alles wieder zum rechtm\u00e4\u00dfigen Besitzer zur\u00fcckbringen mussten. Ach so und dann war da noch die totale Verstopfung im Schlauch beim vorletzten Beutel Isolation (wir hatten insgesamt 50!). Immerhin hatten wir es wetterm\u00e4\u00dfig gut getroffen, da es am Sonntag nie \u00fcber 18\u00b0 warm wurde – auf dem Dachboden wars nat\u00fcrlich trotzdem hei\u00df. Das Isolationszeug hat sich nat\u00fcrlich auch gleichm\u00e4\u00dfigst \u00fcberall verteilt, aber das war vorher klar. Da werden wir noch Wochen Freude dran haben, da bin ich sicher…<\/strong>

\n<\/a>Nobody would expect anything less from MO – after being freezing cold for so many months, we had all of 9 days or so of spring and then it jumped up to 80 degrees on Monday (and has been there all week) – crazy.
\nIn bester Missouri-Manier ist es dann am Montag mal wieder direkt auf 26\u00b0 gesprungen. Wir hatten ganze 9 Tage (oder so) Fr\u00fchling – davor waren es immer noch um die 5-8 Grad und jetzt schon die ganze Woche \u00fcber 25\u00b0 – vollkommen bekloppt.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
