Last week(end) a new Orscheln Farm & Home store opened in Blue Springs, MO. Since there was some Entertainment involved \u2013 namely a flight show (by the same formation team that does the shows for our annual Fall Party) and barnyard races (pigs, goats, ducks and dogs) in the parking lot & an exotic animal display in the store \u2013 I was in attendance. The flight team was practicing on Thursday afternoon & evening and we were supposed to meet them at the airport for a little meeting and to watch them – the second picture is of them walking through the formation on the ground before they take of :).. Little did I know that we were also going to join them for their sunset\/after dark practice! Did I mention it was really windy on Thursday? As in 35-mile per hour gusts of wind? Yeah, that didn\u2019t stop them. They did say it was one of the bumpiest flights they had had, so that give you an idea. It was great fun & amazing, but man, you really don\u2019t want the next plane over to be only 3 feet away when you\u2019re being tossed around like we were… plus pictures were hard to come by as well.
\nAm letzten Freitag und Samstag hat ein neuer Orscheln Farm & Home Laden in Blue Springs, MO (kurz vor Kansas City) aufgemacht. Da Entertainment geplant war \u2013 genauer gesagt eine Formations-Flugshow und \u201eBauernhof\u201c-Rennen (mit Schweinen, Ziegen, Enten und Dackeln)\/ sowie exotische Tiere im Laden \u2013 war ich ebenfalls vor Ort. Das Formations-Flugteam (dasselbe Team, das auch bei der Party im Herbst immer fliegt) \u00fcbte am Donnerstag Nachmittag\/ Abend und wir sollten sie zwecks letzte Absprachen treffen. Das zweite Bild zeigt die Piloten beim buchst\u00e4blichen Durchlauf(en) der Formation auf dem Boden :). Was ich nicht wusste, war dass wir beim letzten Training mitfliegen sollten! Hatte ich schon erw\u00e4hnt, dass es total windig war – 56 km\/h B\u00f6en und so? Hat keinen aufgehalten. Allerdings sagte mehrere der Piloten, dass es einer der holperigsten Fl\u00fcge war, die sie je hatten… Es war super beeindruckend und hat viel Spa\u00df gemacht, aber man will das n\u00e4chste Flugzeug lieber mehr als einen Meter von sich entfernt sehen, wenn man so herum h\u00fcpft… und Fotos\u00a0sind auch schwer zu kriegen, wenn es dauernd wackelt.

\n<\/a>Sadly, the winds were even stronger on Friday, so the flyover had to be postponed until Saturday (when it was still super windy).
\nAm Freitag war der Wind dann noch st\u00e4rker, ergo konnte das KC Flight Team nicht fliegen.. aber am Samstag haben sie es nachgeholt (obwohl es immer noch super windig war).<\/strong><\/p>\n

A personal\u00a0highlight was that there were actually giant scissors involved in the ribbon cutting on Friday. I had only ever seen those in pictures or on TV, so I didn\u2019t hesitate to get a hold of them for a picture.
\nEin pers\u00f6nliches Highlight war die riesige Schere, die bei der offiziellen Er\u00f6ffnung tats\u00e4chlich benutzt wurde. Ich hatte solch eine Schere bisher nur auf Bildern oder im Fernsehen gesehen, also hab ich sie mir schnell f\u00fcr ein Foto gesichert.<\/strong> \"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>
\nAs far as exotic animals go, there was a giant owl, an alligator and an armadillo. Although the latter live around here, I\u2019ve only seen them as roadkill and have really been wanting to see one up close (and hold it). So I did and got a picture with the chicken & the armadillo \u2018ball\u2019 (it did come out as soon as it was set on the ground).
\nI also remembered that we always have Chick Days at this time of year, so the chicken had to pop by to see its siblings.
\nExotische Tiere waren eine riesige\u00a0Eule, ein Alligator und ein G\u00fcrteltier. Obwohl letztere in diesen Graden leben, sehe ich sie leider immer nur tot am Stra\u00dfenrand – daher war ich sehr interessiert daran, eines aus der N\u00e4he zu sehen (und anzufassen). Gesagt, getan und ein Bilder mit G\u00fcrteltier-\u201eBall\u201c und H\u00e4hnchen musste nat\u00fcrlich auch sein.
\nDa fiel mir dann auch noch ein, dass wir zu dieser Jahreszeit K\u00fcken in den L\u00e4den haben \u2013 da musste das H\u00e4hnchen absolut mal vorbeischauen!
