When the kids were with us this past week, we spent one night at Bill & Deb’s with Adam’s Grandma who – since she preferred it to walking – took her first four-wheeler ride ever to get from the back of the house to the front yard. Don’t be deceived by the smile – she said herself that she was terrified, lol.
\nAls wir vergangene Woche die Kinder hier hatten, waren wir alle an einem Abend bei Bill & Debbie, auch Adams Oma, die spontan den ersten Quad-Ritt ihres Lebens hinter sich brachte, da sie es angenehmer fand von hinter dem Haus in den Garten vorne gefahren zu werden, also zu laufen. Lasst euch nicht von den Grinsen t\u00e4uschen, sie gab selber zu, dass sie ziemlich Angst hatte, lol.<\/strong>

\n<\/a>Why did Grandma have to come to the front yard anyway? Because we had set up a pretty nice slipping slide for the kids (and Deb, Adam and myself). This kept them busy for two hours and we still had to drag them off of it at the end.
\nWarum musste Oma von hinterm Haus in den Vordergarten? Da wir eine ziemlich coole Wasserrutsche f\u00fcr die Kinder (und Deb, Adam und mich) aufgebaut hatten. Die beiden waren 2 Stunden lang besch\u00e4ftigt und immer noch entt\u00e4uscht, als wir am Ende das Abends das Wasser abdrehten.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n<\/a>However, all that fun was not without consequences – at least not for us adults (since we were heavier, we kept going over the end of it and man do my legs like I got beaten up ^^. I will not do this slide again without a) softer ground underneath and\/or b) sth. under me, like those floaty thingys. Deb rolled and scraped her shoulder really good, too. Ouch!
\nAllerdings war der ganze Spa\u00df nicht ohne Konsequenzen – zumindest nicht f\u00fcr uns Erwachsene (da wir alle schwerer sind als die Kinder, rutschten wir regelm\u00e4\u00dfig \u00fcber das Ende der Rutsche hinaus und meine Beine sehen definitiv so aus, als ob mich jemand verpr\u00fcgelt h\u00e4tte ^^. Das mache ich nie wieder wenn nicht a) der Boden weicher ist und\/ oder ich etwas Aufblasbares unter mir habe (siehe letztes Bild)- Deb hat sich halb \u00fcberschlagen und die Schulter \u00fcbel aufgeschrammt. Autsch!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n<\/a>In other news, I got moved at the office again to have a little more privacy. At my new spot I have two walls and a window, so that’s quite the improvement! Still working on getting a half wall in front of my desk and then I’ll be happy.
\nB\u00fcro News gibt es auch: Mein Tisch ist mal wieder umgezogen, damit ich etwas mehr Ruhe habe. Immerhin habe ich jetzt 2 W\u00e4nde und ein Fenster, das ist schon eine enorme Verbesserung. Da kommt noch eine halbe Wand auf die andere Seite und dann bin ich zufrieden.<\/strong><\/p>\n
