First I have got to sing my office’s praises for a second – the week of Thanksgiving our Employee Recognition Committee invited everyone to „A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving“ which meant they had a popcorn maker downstairs and we all got fresh popcorn for a snack :). Very nice, that.
\nZuerst muss ich jetzt mal unser Mitarbeiter-Anerkennungs-Team bei der Arbeit loben – in der Woche um Thanksgiving haben sie uns alle zu „A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving“ eingeladen; das hie\u00df frisch gemachtes Popcorn f\u00fcr alle :). H\u00e4tte nicht viel besser sein k\u00f6nnen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nAfter only three days of work, Adam and I headed south towards Huntsville, Alabama on Wednesday afternoon. Bill& Deb had already left on Monday afternoon and taken the kids, so we had a very relaxed trip and stayed the night about halfway there. When we got to Brian& Andrea’s house on Thursday, Thanksgiving dinner was almost done – we were very spoiled! Bill had grilled the turkey and as you can see we had just about everything you could wish for on Thanksgiving. Family, Food and Football :D.
\nNach nur drei Arbeitstagen sind Adam und ich Mittwoch nachmittags in Richtung Huntsville, Alabama gestartet. Bill und Debbie waren schon montags mit den Kindern losgefahren, also hatten wir eine sehr entspannte Fahrt (mit \u00dcbernachtung auf halben Wege). Als wir am Donnerstag (=Thanksgiving) ankamen, war das Essen quasi fertig und wir haben uns sehr verw\u00f6hnt gef\u00fchlt. Bill hat den Truthahn gegrillt und es gab so ziemlich alle Beilagen, die man sich w\u00fcnschen k\u00f6nnte. Alles was man an Thanksgiving braucht: Familie, lecker Essen und Football (es werden an dem Donnerstag jedes Jahr 3 Spiele gespielt, also kann man quasi von 11:30 Uhr bis 22:30 Uhr ohne Unterbrechung durchgucken) :D.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nBlack Friday was Andrea’s birthday. We spent the morning at a very nice park, then Andrea and I headed to her Gilmore Girls birthday party for the afternoon (just grown-ups and girls only), which was wonderful. Since Bill & Deb had offered to watch the kids that night, Adam, Brian, Andrea and I got to go out to dinner together and enjoy a night of just the four of us. Sadly Brian was sick the entire time we were there (spoiler alert – Bill, Deb and I all got it the week after), but it was still a fun night.
\nBlack Friday (so wird der Freitag nach Thanksgiving genannt), war Andreas Geburtstag. Den Vormittag haben wir alle zusammen auf einem sehr coolen Spielplatz verbracht, den Nachmittag bei einer von Andreas Freundinnen zu einer Gilmore Girls Geburtstagsparty (nur die M\u00e4dels und nur Erwachsene) – das war super. Bill und Debbie hatten angeboten, alle Kinder zu sitten, also sind wir abends zu viert ausgegangen. Leider war Brian die komplette Zeit \u00fcber krank (ganz \u00fcberraschend hat es Bill, Debbie und mich diese Woche auch erwischt), aber wir haben uns davon den Spa\u00df nicht verderben lassen.<\/strong>\"img_2637\"<\/a>\"2016-11-25-10-41-53\"<\/a>\"2016-11-25-13-58-00\"<\/a>
\nSaturday was our last day already, so we just hung out and enjoyed each other’s company. The kids had been playing hard for 5 days at this time and that took its toll. Owen fell asleep on me at 5:30pm and was very hard to wake back up. We got up early on Sunday and drove all day – instead of another day off (which would have been soo nice), it was right back to work the next morning though.
\nAm Samstag war auch schon unser letzter Tag und den haben wir einfach alle zusammen verbracht. Die Kinder hatten schon 5 Tage lang dauer-gespielt und waren entsprechend fertig – Owen schlief um 17:30 Uhr einfach ein und war wirklich schwer wieder zu wecken. Am Sonntag mussten wir fr\u00fch aufstehen und zur\u00fcckfahren, was den ganzen Tag dauert. Es w\u00e4re toll gewesen, noch einen Tag freizuhaben, aber nein – am Montag fr\u00fch hie\u00df es zur\u00fcck zur Arbeit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nI have to mention the abundant advent calendars in our house once again \ud83d\ude42 – coffee cups for the kids, Adam’s half (odd numbers), my half (even numbers) and one just for me from Caro (thanks again :*) with teas and Milka chocolates (my favorite!). Gotta love December!
\nJetzt muss ich aber nochmal die Anzahl an Adventskalendern in unserem Haus erw\u00e4hnen \ud83d\ude42 – Kaffeebecher f\u00fcr die Kinder, Adams H\u00e4lfte (ungerade Zahlen), meine H\u00e4lfte (grade Zahlen) und einer nur f\u00fcr mich von der lieben Caro (tausend Dank nochmal :*) mit einem Tee und einer kleinen Milka-Tafel jeden Tag (meine liebste Schoki). Man muss Dezember einfach m\u00f6gen!<\/strong>
