It\u2019s hard to believe, but my one-year anniversary at work was on September 14th<\/sup>. My job has changed quite substantially from what it first was and I definitely like it a whole lot better than I did at first. After one year, you get a hat, a mug and a fountain pen, see below.
\nAnother thing that happens every year around one\u2019s anniversary is a review with one\u2019s supervisor \u2013 in my case with my supervisor and the two people I mostly work with, so I had a whole panel of judges (and almost broke into song, lol). \u00a0Long story short, it was a very good review and I now finally got my first week of vacation as well. Plus they approved me taking time off without pay which makes a trip to Germany next year quite possible :).<\/p>\n

Schwer zu glauben, aber wahr \u2013 mein erster Jahrestag in meinem Job war am 14. September. Meine Aufgaben haben sich seit dem letzten Jahr ganz sch\u00f6n ver\u00e4ndert und ich mag meine Arbeit definitive weitaus mehr, als ich es am Anfang getan habe. Zum Einj\u00e4hrigen kriegt man eine Kappe, eine Tasse und einen F\u00fcller, siehe unten.
\nAu\u00dferdem hat man sein Mitarbeitergespr\u00e4ch ebenfalls nach einem Jahr \u2013 in meinem Fall nicht nur mit meiner Vorgesetzten, sondern auch den beiden Damen mit denen ich am Meisten zusammenarbeite. Es f\u00fchlte sich ein bisschen an wie eine Talentshow \u2013 fast h\u00e4tte ich gesungen, lol. Um es kurz zu machen \u2013 das Feedback war super und ich habe nebenbei jetzt auch meine erste Woche Urlaub bekommen. Au\u00dferdem habe ich die Genehmigung, l\u00e4nger frei zunehmen und einfach nicht bezahlt zu werden \u2013 somit steht einem Deutschlandbesuch im n\u00e4chsten Jahr nichts im Wege.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nSince there are still a lot of changes at the office that I am at, I got moved again about two weeks ago \u2013 this time in front of Jennifer\u2019s office which makes a whole lot of more sense since we\u2019re working together anyway. A positive side effect is that I am no longer the first person people stumble upon when they come into this part of the office and I even have a wall, lol. Since I had had some trouble with my lower back after moving over here in April, I got a new chair and a desk accessory that allows me to work standing up \u2013 I\u2019ve already used this quite a bit in the past two weeks.
\nDa sich das B\u00fcro, in dem ich arbeite weiterhin im Umbruch befindet, bin ich vor 2 Wochen mal wieder umgezogen \u2013 dieses Mal vor Jennifers B\u00fcro, was ohnehin viel mehr Sinn ergibt, da wir vor allem zusammenarbeiten. Ein positiver Nebeneffekt ist auch, dass ich nicht mehr die erste Person bin, die man sieht wenn man zur T\u00fcr hereinkommt und ich habe sogar meine eigene Wand, lol. Da ich ziemlich Probleme mit meinem R\u00fccken hatte, seitdem ich im April hergezogen war, habe ich einen neuen Stuhl und eine Accessoire bekommen, mit dem ich im Stehen arbeiten kann \u2013 das habe ich schon flei\u00dfig benutzt in den letzten 2 Wochen.<\/strong>
